Mackenzie Jones

It would be easy to compare Mackenzie’s presence to Joni Mitchell, her allure to Naomi Watts, her work ethic to Edie Falco but all of these would be doing a disservice to Mackenzie. She is, without hesitation or doubt, an asset beyond compare. I invite you to work with her, only then will you get it. Hire her and thank me later.

Ultimately, I am drawn to the wonderful complexities of the human experience. Let’s face it, humans are weird, the world is weird, and being an artist gives me a chance to celebrate all the intricacies of that existence. Professionally, I continually seek work that explores storytelling while melding movement, music and traditional narrative styles. I gravitate toward devised work, as I  love to collaborate, learn from fellow artists, and develop from abstract frameworks.  I favor working in a body-based practice, devising from the body and using the connections between people in the room.  I love mess, risk, and joy.  Art as activism has always been a driver both professionally and in the art that I seek.

Since returning, to my hometown of Chicago after living in NYC for 8 years, I’ve had the privilege of……

Theatrical reviews have described me as being filled “with wit and beautiful lyricism” (Rutland Herald) and being “lots of fun to hate.” (Cape Gazette)
