Hi, I am Mackenzie.
I'm a CHICAGO gal (city proper) born and bred, now based in NYC. I am a Blonde-Jewish(yes, I promise)-City Girl-who spent weekends on her grandparent's farm. So, as Hannah Montana says, "I got the best of both worlds."
I absolutely adore my family. My father grew up on the farm in Indiana and thinks he's Liam Neeson. My mother was a professional dancer and wishes my dad was Liam Neeson. I have one younger sister going all out for a masters in Art Therapy; forced to watch "Taken" starring, you guessed it...too many times. I can't even count how many times I've seen it. Great film.
The work that really turns me on is immersive or environmental theatre, especially incorporated with the use of movement and music. I love when the audience gets to feel a part of the story. Humans are weird, the world is weird, and being an artist gives me a chance to explore pieces of existence that, maybe, I'll never get to experience.
My favorite project, is Halloween. Annually, I research, produce, organize, costume, and act out a new character. It’s thrilling. Example: in 3rd grade I was Cousin It. (costume: handmade by me.) The picture to the left is kept on my desktop as a reminder to never lose the confidence of that 8 year old rockstar.
